Projekt - Fakultät 2 - Englisch
Status:abgeschlossen
Kurzinhalt:The project aims to increase young children’s exposure to foreign languages and to improve the quality of teaching through the implementation of CLIL in primary and preprimary education.
The objectives of the project are to investigate various CLIL implementation styles, identify problems in CLIL implementation (and suggest solutions) and develop appropriate teaching materials. It also aims to investigate students’, teachers’, parents’ and administrators’ perceptions and attitudes towards CLIL. Finally, the project hopes to identify good practice in CLIL implementation and investigate its effectiveness as regards the learning of content.
The project’s target groups are preprimary and primary school teachers, student teachers, administrators, policy makers and training providers.
The project will implement various types of CLIL in primary and preprimary schools in the partner countries. It will design relevant materials and study CLIL implementation as regards problems faced and solutions found. Finally, guidelines of good practice will be distilled and a course for initial and pre-service teacher training in CLIL, along with a set of teaching materials, will be designed.
Expected outputs include a set of teaching materials and a course designed to be used either for initial or in-service training for preparing language teachers in teaching through CLIL.
